Journalists Union Condemns Israeli Enemy Targeting of Media Cadres in Lebanon

The Union of journalists in Syria condemned the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces when they  targeted media cadres at their residence in Hasbaya, in al-Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, and killed three journalists, namely ,  Al-Manar TV cameraman Wissam Kassem, cameraman and technician of Al-Mayadeen TV Ghassan Najjar and Mohammed Reda – in addition to injurying  a number of journalists and photographers from other channels.

In a statement  the union confirmed that this heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupying forces is a complement to its criminal aggression against journalists and their media institutions and its killing of a large number of journalists to prevent them from transmitting images of the enemy’s genocide war against civilians and innocents.

It pointed out that the entity’s continued targeting of journalists is a war crime with all specifications and standards, and the international community and organizations concerned with the protection of journalists cannot remain silent about this ongoing crime.

The union called on international organizations and media, humanitarian and legal institutions to hold the Zionist entity fully legally and morally responsible for this brutal attack and the need to hold it accountable and not to let those behind this targeting go unpunished.
