Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Security Council bears responsibility for repercussions of its failure to stop the war of extermination
Occupied Al-Quds (ST)-The Palestinian Foreign Ministry stressed that the UN Security Council bears responsibility for the repercussions of its continued failure to stop the war of extermination waged by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, calling on the Council to take binding measures to implement international legitimacy resolutions to ensure an immediate cessation of the war.
WAFA News Agency quoted the Foreign Ministry as calling in a statement today on the Security Council to assume its legal responsibilities and exercise its powers to provide protection for the Palestinian people and stop all manifestations of genocide committed by the occupation, including the war of starvation, deprivation of treatment and forms of forced displacement in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Ministry said: “We warn of the dangers of any proposed plans that aim to consolidate the separation between the two parts of the Palestinian homeland to undermine the opportunity to embody the Palestinian state on the ground,” adding: “The occupation does not have the authority and capacity to “veto” the management of the Palestinian state institutions in the Strip, and it must not be allowed to do so, especially since the Strip is an integral part of the occupied State of Palestine.”
The Foreign Ministry pointed out that it will continue its diplomatic efforts at all levels to stop the war of extermination and mobilize the broadest international pressure front to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, most notably the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly issued last September, which adopted the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice and called on “Israel” to end its occupation of Palestinian land within 12 months.
