Syrian-Iraqi talks on Enhancing Security Cooperation and Joint Coordination

The Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and Syrian ambassador to Baghdad Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah discussed ways to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation relations.

The Syrian ambassador to Iraq said in a statement to SANA: “The meeting confirmed the importance of the historical relations and fraternal ties between the two countries and the keenness to develop them in a way that ensures their ability and stability”. He explained that the prospects for enhancing cooperation and joint coordination, exchanging visits and fortifying borders on both sides to prevent the infiltration of terrorists between the two countries were discussed.”

Al-Dandah pointed out that his discussions with the Iraqi Minister of Interior also addressed the affairs of the Syrian community in Iraq, and the necessity of solving their problems and granting those who violate the residency conditions a grace period to settle their situations and reduce the fees and fines imposed on them. Minister Al-Shammari promised to provide facilities and find appropriate and legal solutions for them.
