Al-Mikdad discusses with Algerian Ambassador and Iraqi Chargé de ’affairs efforts to stop Israeli aggression
Damascus- Vice President Faisal Al-Mikdad discussed with Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Damascus, Kamal Bouchama the current developments in the region in light of the continuation of Zionist policies and practices of genocide, the destruction caused by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon, and the repeated attacks on Syria, and the need to mobilize efforts to stop these attacks immediately, and to ensure that the Israeli occupation authorities are held accountable for these acts.
The talks addressed aspects of cooperation between the two countries and a number of topics of common interest, with Mr. Mikdad describing Syrian-Algerian relations as deeply rooted.
He also expressed Syria’s appreciation for the important and effective role played by Algeria in defending Arab issues through its current membership in the Security Council.
For his part, Ambassador Boushamah described as “distinguished” the relations between the two countries and the importance of intensifying bilateral cooperation to develop them, noting the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on all issues of common interest.
In a similar meeting, Mr. Mikdad discussed with the Chargé de ’affairs of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, Yassin Sharif Al-Hujaimi, the relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and the necessity of strengthening them in various fields, as well as coordination on issues of common interest at various levels.
Mikdad pointed out the importance of the existing cooperation between the Syrian and Iraqi governments in facing common challenges, especially stopping the genocide crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people, its aggression against Lebanon, and its repeated attacks on Syria in.
In turn, Al-Hujaimi expressed the Iraqi government’s great appreciation for Syria’s role which opened its doors to the Lebanese brothers and its efforts to receive them, pointing out that the Iraqi government is providing possible assistance in this context.
