Damascus(ST)-The Syrian film “Day Zero” by director Majid Al-Khatib is participating in the list of feature films at the “Seoul Whistler” International Film Festival in South Korea.
“Day Zero”, which is the first production of “Pentalens” company, is the only Arab film participating in the festival in its current session, along with a list of films from several foreign countries, including Britain, the United States, Iran, Portugal, Sweden, China, Germany and others.
Al-Khatib said in a statement to SANA: The film is a journey of searching in the worlds of people who try to be influencers in times of war and at the same time an attempt to understand the survivor’s complex and the clash of two convictions, one centered around collective survival and the other around individual survival.
Al-Khatib explained that in this film he was trying to retain the local stamp and yet at the same time communicate this genre of film to the outside world .
The film cast includes actors Marah Hijaz and Marhaf Al-Krad, scenographer Ghaith Marzouqi, cinematographer Haidar Al-Hamid and Amin Abu Al-Qasim, music composition Ali Suleiman and technical operations Ibrahim Tawil.
