AMMAN, Oct.19, (ST)-Today, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Damiriyah, reviewed with the Regional Director of the World Health Organization, Dr. Hanan Al-Balkhi, the ways of developing health cooperation and improving health services provided in Syria.
During a meeting, which was held in Amman on the sidelines of the 1st Arab Conference on the role of the immigration of Arab health experts in supporting health systems in Arab countries, the two sides discussed the issue of opening the Health Emergency Management Center and the mechanism for training its cadres.
Al-Balkhi appreciated the efforts made for offering basic needs to those who came from Lebanon and providing the necessary support to the Syrian side in this regard, in addition to supporting the pharmaceutical industries in Syria.
In a related context, Damiriyah discussed with his Jordanian counterparts, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, the Sudanese, Dr. Haitham Muhammad Ibrahim, and the Algerian, Abdul Haq Saihi, the current health conditions, ways of bilateral health cooperation, and enhancing citizen’s health.
