British NGOs: The tragic situation in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank requires urgent aid

A coalition of 15 British NGOs, including Oxfam and Action Against Hunger, has launched an urgent appeal for donations to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank.
“Over the past months, the conflict in the Middle East has devastated the lives of people across the region, with millions fleeing their homes in search of safety and in dire need of food, shelter and medical care,” the 15 NGOs that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee wrote in a statement reported by Agence France-Presse.
“We urgently need more money to meet the massive needs… We are asking everyone to donate now to save lives,” said Saleh Saeed, director of the committee.
The Disasters Emergency Committee was founded in 1963 to appeal for donations in crises abroad.
According to international organizations, the situation in Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories requires urgent action to deliver aid, which the Israeli occupation authorities are preventing and tightening their blockade with the aim of starving and killing the Palestinians and the Lebanese.
