Minister of Local Administration discusses with Iraqi Undersecretary of Migration joint efforts to respond to the needs of arrivals from Lebanon

Following up on the measures taken to receive arrivals from Lebanon to Syria due to the Israeli aggression, and securing the emergency humanitarian response for them, and coordinating the joint Syria-Iraqi efforts to serve the Lebanese arriving in Iraq, were the main focus of today’s meeting between Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Louay Khreita and the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Migration Karim Al-Nouri.

Minister Khreita presented a set of measures that the Syrian government took in every sector to secure the requirements of arrivals from the moment they entered and were received at the border crossings, up to securing their relief, food, medical and health needs.

In turn, the Iraqi official explained that his visit to Syria comes within the framework of following up on the conditions of Lebanese arrivals in Syria and assisting in providing the necessary support to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of arrivals.

The Iraqi official expressed Iraq’s appreciation to Syria for receiving the arrivals and providing all their needs.

The meeting was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, Yassin Sharif Al-Hajimi.
