Many health services, including vaccinations and primary care, are provided to arrivals from Lebanon

Many health services have been provided to arrivals from Lebanon since the beginning of the brutal Israeli occupation aggression, including vaccination services, as part of the comprehensive national vaccination campaign to follow up on the children of arrival dropouts and enhance their routine vaccination.

A number of families arriving from Lebanon confirmed in a statement to SANA that since their arrival in Syria, they underwent the necessary tests and were provided with medicines if needed, in addition to checking the vaccination status of their children. They noted the health services they received whether at the crossing, at medical points, or at residence centers.

While giving the vaccine to her child, Nour Al-Huda Hassan, who came from Nabatieh, explained that the required vaccines for her child were completed and he was given all the vitamins he needed and which he  did not receive in Lebanon due to the circumstances.

Head of the Vaccination Program at the Damascus Countryside Health Directorate, Dr. Muhammad Akram Maatouq, explained that the vaccination campaign benefits children of families arriving from Lebanon, along with primary health care for children and women from the moment they enter Syria. He noted that there are two fixed and mobile vaccination teams in the Harjalah Shelter Center to provide the necessary vaccinations to all children in the center and protect them from ten serious diseases.

Director of Health in Damascus Countryside, Dr. Yassin Naanous, stated that since the beginning of the entry of arrivals through the Jdeidet Yabous crossing, all health services have been provided free of charge and in full. The medical point at the border has been provided with an additional number of doctors, as their number at the crossing has reached 10 doctors and the same number of nurses. In addition to the allocation of 4 ambulances, one of which is a mobile clinic that has provided about 4,000 health services so far, including vaccinations, reproductive health, nutrition and psychological support,

It is noteworthy that despite the limited capabilities due to the war conditions and the unjust siege on Syria, the total number of medical services in all crossings and shelter centers has reached 42,671 services so far.
