Zakharova : America is the main beneficiary of the Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and Iran
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that the US is the main beneficiary of all Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and is a threat to Iran and Washington cannot absolve itself of its responsibility for that.
Zakharova said during a press briefing in Moscow yesterday: “The US must bear responsibility for the emerging situation in the Middle East and it has no right to absolve itself of responsibility in this regard”. She explained that the risk of a major war still exists while Washington evades direct responsibility in this matter by all means and refrains from exerting any influence on Israel to stop its aggression.
Zakharova pointed out that the matter is not limited to being an area of responsibility only, because the Americans have taken upon themselves the task of taking care of what is happening. Though for many years they have been trying to convince others that international mediation efforts, which they consider futile, are unnecessary.
Zakharova added:” The United States, which has undermined everything, must bear responsibility for what it has done and has no right to shirk this responsibility”.
In a related context, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed Moscow’s readiness to support new initiatives by the UN Security Council for a ceasefire in Gaza, given the failure to implement the previous resolution adopted last June. Russia hopes that Washington will not obstruct them
“Unfortunately, Resolution 2735, which was adopted last June at the insistence of our American colleagues, cannot guarantee a ceasefire because it is tied to the results of very questionable negotiations, which, moreover, are not even underway yet,” Nebenzia said during a meeting of the UN Security Council.
Nebenzia expressed his hope that Washington would finally acknowledge this clear fact and would no longer obstruct the Council’s new relevant initiatives.
Since October 7, the Israeli occupation entity has been waging a devastating aggression on Gaza, leaving 42,409 martyrs and 99,153 wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
