The National Translation Symposium kicks off in Damascus

Damascus(ST)-The National Translation Symposium entitled “Translation and Acculturation” kicked off today at the Assad National Library in Damascus.
The symposium is held by the The Syrian General Organization Of Books at the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Higher Institute of Translation at Damascus University, the Arabic Language Academy, the Arab Writers Union, and the Syrian Publishers Union.

A group of Syrian translators with experience in transferring knowledge, sciences, and literary productions from and to the Arabic language are participating in the symposium. They will present 15 scientific research papers over two days. The symposium coincides with the celebration of the International Translation Day.
