Iran calls on the United Nations to use all its capabilities to stop Israeli crimes and support the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to employ all capabilities to stop the crimes and attacks of the Israeli entity and send humanitarian aid to Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

In a phone call with Guterres, during which they exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, Araqchi referred to the catastrophic humanitarian situation resulting from the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the attacks launched by the Zionist entity on Lebanon. He stressed his country’s position on the necessity of preserving peace and stability in the region, and its readiness to respond decisively to any adventure committed by the Zionist entity.

Araghchi reiterated that the responsibility for the consequences of increased insecurity in the region lies with this entity and its main supporter, the United States.

For his part, Guterres expressed his concern about the escalation of tensions in the region with the continued Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon. He indicated the organization’s efforts to find a political solution. He stressed  the importance of protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and the continued presence of peacekeeping forces in the south of the country despite the threats they face..
