Minister of Local Administration meets with Iranian Ambassador 

On October 14th, Minister of Local Administration and Environment, “Chairman of the Supreme Relief Committee”, Eng. Louay Kharita, met with the Iranian Ambassador to Syria, Hussein Akbari.

The two sides discussed the means to achieve the best levels of coordination regarding the emergency response to Lebanese arrivals and Syrian returnees, as a result of the blatant Israeli aggression on  Lebanon.

Minister Kharita explained to Ambassador Akbari and his accompanying delegation the continued entry of the Lebanese  through the border crossings in Jdeidet Yabous and Josieh.

Minister Kharita noted that the largest number of arrivals is concentrated in the Damascus countryside, then in Homs, followed by the rest of the other governorates.

Minister Kharita stressed the need to continue coordination with the ministries, concerned authorities, governmental organizations and national partners through the Supreme Relief Committee to facilitate and simplify the procedures for the entry of arrivals through the border crossings, secure the necessary needs and health services, and simplify procedures in general.

In turn, Akbari pointed out the importance of continuing coordination on the issue of the emergency response to arrivals, and supporting the Syrian efforts that opened its doors to the Lebanese and secured their needs and requirements for their dignified stay.
