Economy Minister Calls for Attracting Investment, Increasing Trade Exchange

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Khider Orfali, underlined the importance of attracting investment, financing ventures and increasing the volume of trade exchange with friendly countries.

During a meeting with chairmen of the Joint Syrian Business Councils of Russia, China, Iran, Belarus and Armenia, Dr. Orfali pointed to the importance of the role of these councils to strengthen cooperation and increase the volume of trade exchange between these countries and Syria.

He pointed to the efforts of these councils that can play in Syria, especially in the field of reconstruction, calling for the consolidation of trade foundations that encourage investment.

For their parts, the heads of councils expressed their willingness to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with friendly countries in order to serve the march of the Syrian economy.

A number of council members clarified that the new councils have enthusiasm to work, especially in terms revitalizing economy, tourism and export, attracting investment and increasing trade.
