Euro-Mediterranean Monitor: “Israel” threatens more than 400,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza Strip with starvation

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned that more than 400,000 Palestinians are threatened with death by hunger and thirst in the northern Gaza Strip due to the Israeli occupation preventing any aid or goods from reaching them, in light of the violent shelling and ongoing ground incursion for the tenth day with the aim of emptying the northern Gaza Strip of its people and forcibly displacing them.

The monitor stated today that hundreds of thousands in Jabalia, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip have been unable to obtain any food or drinking water for 10 days, as a result of their siege inside their homes or the shelters they resort to.

“The Israeli army continues its invasion of the area and committing murders that have claimed the lives of more than 350 Palestinians and led to the injury of hundreds of others, in addition to the widespread destruction of residential buildings”, the Monitor added.

The Monitor noted that the occupation bombed today dozens of Palestinians trapped in Jabalia camp after they were forced under the pressure of hunger to go to an UNRWA center to get food for their families, which led to the martyrdom of 10 and the injury of at least 40 others.

The Monitor indicated that what is happening in the northern Gaza Strip represents one of the biggest crimes of killing by starvation, using it as a deadly weapon, and imposing living conditions intended to actually destroy the Palestinians in the Strip as part of the ongoing genocide crime for more than a year.

The Monitor stressed that those who were forced to move to Gaza City also lack shelter and do not have any food supplies, as the occupation prevents the entry of aid to them.

It called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to intervene immediately to save the people of the Strip and make urgent decisions obliging Israel to enter aid and stop the war of genocide, hold it accountable and punish it for all its crimes.
