Slim calls on the international community to force occupying entity to stop its aggression against Lebanon

BEIRUT, Oct.12, (ST)-Lebanese Defense Minister Maurice Slim has called on the international community to force the occupying entity to stop its aggression against Lebanon, saying that the Israeli attack on the United Nations forces operating in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) proves its aggressive nature and its threat to stability and peace in the region.

The Lebanese National News Agency quoted Slim as saying today: Lebanon does not want war, but it does not accept the continuation of Israeli criminal attacks targeting innocent people in its areas.

He renewed Lebanon’s demand to stop these attacks and oblige the occupying entity to implement international resolutions and adhere to Resolution 1701, because it is the one who violates the international will embodied in this resolution.

The minister also strongly denounced the Israeli occupation’s deliberate targeting of  UNIFIL, stressing that these attacks indicate that the Israeli enemy is ignoring international resolutions and the peaceful tasks of UNIFIL, which once again exposes its aggressive nature not only against Lebanon, but also against peace and stability in the region.
