Iravani: The United States, Britain and Western countries are Complicit in the Crimes of the Zionist Entity

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani condemned the American and Western complicity with the genocidal crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples.

“Iran stands firmly by Lebanon and is committed to supporting and resisting its government and people and strongly condemns the continued complicity of the United States, Britain and some other Western countries in enabling the Israeli entity to commit systematic war crimes and a genocides against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples by providing it with advanced weapons,” Iravani said during a session of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East in New York.

“More than a year after the Israeli genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, this entity has now started its war and genocide against Lebanon,” Iravani explained, stressing that “deliberately targeting civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure is not just a violation of international law but a clear war crime, a crime against humanity and genocide… “The Zionist entity has crossed all red lines and proved that it does not respect international law,” he said.

He stressed that the UN Security Council has a moral and legal responsibility and obligation to intervene and maintain international peace and security, and not to allow the war crimes committed by the Israeli entity to go unpunished because that would constitute a stain on our collective conscience.

“Due  to the unconditional support provided by the United States under the name of ‘strict support’, the rudeness of the officials of the Israeli entity has increased as its heinous crimes are being justified and even shamelessly praised in the eyes of the world, and they are counting on the support of the United States to continue their terrorist and destructive campaign, “Iravani said.

Iravani stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek war or escalation of tension in the region, but it is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression targeting its vital interests and security, and Iran will certainly exercise its natural right to self-defense in full accordance with international law, and will inform the Security Council of its legal response.
