Damascus University enters the Times educational and research classification in its international version

Damascus(ST)-Damascus University has entered the Times Higher Education and Research rankings in its international version, or what is known as the Times Higher Education or Global Rankings, to be the first Syrian university to obtain a rank.

Dr. Marwan Al-Rai, Director of the University’s Classification Office, explained that Damascus University ranked /1501+/ out of 2092 universities that were actually included in this ranking.

He indicated that 2857 universities sent their data to the ranking platform, including Syrian universities, and the universities that met the seven classification conditions were classified, and their number is only 2092 universities.These constitute  the best universities in the world according to this ranking.

Al-Ra’i pointed out that Damascus University is the only Syrian university that has met the research threshold condition and exceeded the specialization condition to be actually included in the classification.

He indicated that the Times International classification is considered the most important educational and research classification in the world, and the university’s achievement of a rank in its international version is an added value for it, given that it is included among the best 2092 universities worldwide.

Dr. Al-Ra’i pointed out that the classification in its latest version is based on 18 different and comprehensive main criteria, such as the quality of research, the quality of education, academic reputation, and the success rate for doctoral and university degree students.
