Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Heads Diplomatic Delegation to Beirut

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in the Lebanese capital Beirut on a visit of solidarity with Lebanon.

IRNA News Agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei as saying in a post on his website: “The Iranian diplomatic delegation headed by Araghchi arrived in Lebanon, stressing that “Iran is firm in its solidarity with the brave Lebanese people, and everyone in the region should understand the dangerous situation facing Lebanon and its consequences for the future of our nations.”
“Our delegation is headed by Foreign Minister Araghchi and includes deputies in the Shura Council and the president of the Red Crescent Society,” Baghaei added, noting that a meeting is scheduled between Araghchi and the head of the Lebanese caretaker government Najib Mikati and speaker of the House of Representatives Nabih Berri.
“A shipment of 10 tons of food and medicines will be delivered to Lebanon as part of the humanitarian assistance provided by Iran,” Baghaei added.
