Palestinian Ministry of Education: More than 11,600 Palestinian school-age children have been martyred as a result of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip
The Palestinian Ministry of Education has announced the martyrdom of more than 11,600 Palestinian school-age children, in addition to more than 750 teachers, educational and administrative employees, more than 1,100 male and female students in higher education institutions, and about 130 scientists and academics, with thousands injured and disabled due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry said in a statement today: “During its aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation bombed all service sectors, especially education, and deprived more than 650,000 male and female students from attending their schools for the second year in a row, and about 100,000 in higher education institutions, and 35,000 in kindergartens.”
The Ministry explained that the occupation destroyed 93 percent of school buildings during its aggression on the Strip, in addition to most rehabilitation and training centers, e-learning centers, and more than 130 administrative and academic facilities in universities, colleges, and institutes.
The Ministry called on the international community to intervene urgently to protect children and educational facilities, hold the occupation accountable for its crimes, and allow the entry of humanitarian aid for education, such as educational tents and school supplies, which the occupation deprives children of.
