Mortar and Missile Attacks Kill at Least 3 Civilians, Wound 53 Others in Damascus and Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorist attacks have killed at least three civilians and wounded 55 others in provinces of Damascus, Homs and Hassaka, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported today that at least a girl was martyred and 22 other civilians wounded when two shells- fired by terrorists- hit Beirut Street, located between Victoria bridge and Umayyad square, in the capital [Damascus].

A police command source told the agency’s reporter that the girl died and the 22 civilians were wounded when one of the two shells landed on a bus, noting that several cars were damaged by the mortar attack.

About 13 shells hit 4 urban areas 

Eight more shells- fired by terrorists- hit quarters of al-Dwel’a and Masaken Barzeh in Damascus where some 10 civilians were wounded and many cars and houses were damaged.

In Damascus countryside, terrorists fired 4 shells on Jaramana city and a shell on Ashrafeyet Sehnaya area, wounding at least a civilian in Jaramana city.

The shell, which was fired on Ashrafeyet Sehnaya, landed on the ‘Martyr Hussien Zein’ School and caused material damages at the scene without casualties.

Missile landed on polyclinics in Homs   

Other terrorist attacks took place in Homs province as missiles struck al-Insha’at quarter and the polyclinics center in Karmellouz quarter.

The first missile attack killed 2 civilians and left 13 others wounded, according to a source at Homs Governorate.

The source added that two physicians, an employee in emergency ward plus 6 women were wounded by the second missile attack that left serious damages at the clinics.

Last Thursday, about nine civilians were wounded by mortar attack on a house in al-Hamra quarter in the city of Homs. While on April 9th, twin car bomb blasts killed at least 25 civilians and wounded more than 107 others in Karmellouz quarter.

In Idleb province, yesterday’s missile attacks on al-Na’ora quarter and near the municipal stadium killed a woman and a child and left 11 other persons, mostly children, wounded.

In addition, a detonation of an explosive device, planted by terrorists in al-Saleheyeh quarter in Hassaka province, leaving today some two civilians wounded.
