Pakistan’s Prime Minister: Israeli Occupation Must be Held Accountable for its Crimes, Not only be Condemned

Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif demanded an end to Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7, stressing that the occupation must be held accountable for its crimes against Palestinians and not only condemn them.

Addressing the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Sharif said, “When we ignore the endless suffering of the Palestinian people, we detract from our humanity. It is not enough to condemn, but we must act now and demand an immediate end to the bloodshed,” he said, stressing that the blood and sacrifices of innocent Palestinians will not be in vain”.

Sharif reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to establish their own independent State on the June 4, 1967 line, with Jerusalem as its capital, and Palestine’s right to be a full Member of the United Nations.

In turn, Slovenia’s Prime Minister Robert Golub demanded an end to the Israeli occupation and a halt to the bloodshed of the Palestinian people.

“The feeling of impunity for crimes committed in the Gaza Strip put humanitarian organizations under pressure elsewhere and undermined the essence of the United Nations and affected the work of humanitarian organizations and United Nations agencies such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNRWA, the World Health Organization and the World Food Program,” Golub added.
