Bin Farhan: The Establishment of a Palestinian State is an Inherent Right of the Palestinian People

Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is an inherent right of the Palestinian people, and called for joining an “international coalition” to achieve this goal.

Bin Farhan was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency as saying during the ministerial meeting on the Palestinian issue on the sidelines of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly at its 79th session in New York: “the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is an inherent right and a basis for peace, not a final outcome negotiated within an elusive political process.”

He expressed appreciation to those states that have recently recognized Palestine, calling on other States to adopt the same resolution, stating that the war on Gaza has caused a humanitarian catastrophe, along with the grave violations committed by the Israeli occupying force in the West Bank and the threat to Al-Aqsa Mosque and religious sanctities to perpetuate the policy of occupation and violent extremism “.

Farhan stressed that nothing can “justify the killing of tens of thousands of civilians and the practice of systematic destruction, forced displacement, the use of starvation as a tool of war, systematic torture and other crimes documented according to UN reports”.

Talking about the brutal Israeli aggression against Lebanon, the Saudi Foreign Minister said: “We are witnessing a dangerous regional escalation these days that affects the brotherly Lebanese Republic and leads us to the danger of a regional war that threatens our region and the whole world.”

Ibn Farhan concluded  by saying “on behalf of the Arab and Islamic countries and European partners, I announce the launching of an international coalition to implement the two-state solution and call on all countries to join it”.
