22nd International Scientific Conference of Syrian Dentists Syndicate an opportunity for exchanging experiences on using advanced technology

With Arab and international participation, the activities of the 22nd International Scientific Conference of the Syrian Dental Syndicate kicked off on Thursday under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, at the Conferences Palace in Damascus.
The conference is distinguished by the diversity of its scientific and professional programs, and represents an opportunity for dentists to meet and exchange experiences on the use of advanced technologies, research issues that would advance to better levels of scientific practice and enhance the situation of medical work.
The three-day event aims at raising the level of professional performance and developing scientific research as an important foundation for presenting the latest specialized research in therapeutic, restorative and surgical dentistry, in addition to keeping pace with scientific developments and focusing on innovations that contribute to improving health care in dentistry.
Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Dmiriyah, stressed in his speech the ministry’s keenness to have an effective partnership with medical unions and work together to overcome the obstacles that hinder their work and provide the support required to develop and enhance this profession.
He welcomed all new ideas and visions that enrich the work of doctors, improve their performance, and raise the level of their aspirations.
The health minister indicated that enhancing the health situation and providing preventive and curative health services are among the main topics of the Ministry.
Head of the Syndicate of Dentists in Syria, Dr. Zakaria Al-Basha, said that the conference is attended by representatives of more than 20 Arab and foreign countries, and its topics focus on cosmetic and preventive dentistry, pathological anatomy, uses of lasers, oral and maxillofacial surgery, gum diseases, and forensic dentistry.
He noted that some of the lectures will be online and  several scientific workshops and training courses on equipment in the field of dentistry will also be held.
The specialist, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, pointed out that his lecture dealt with the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in endodontic therapy, indicating that the University of Damascus has come a long way in encouraging applications of artificial intelligence through an agreement with the Union of Arab Universities and Ajloun University to encourage this specialty and enhance its role.
Deputy General Director of the Ugarit Consulting Company, Heba Nawilatti, pointed out that the participation in the exhibition comes through special diplomas for dentists, such as dental clinic management, which includes financial and marketing management and social media, adding  that these diplomas were approved for the first time in Syria under the supervision of the Syrian Dentists Syndicate.
On the sideline of the conference  an exhibition of medical and dental equipment is  held  for a number of local companies specialized in dental medical equipment and treatment materials.
The guests of the conference were Dr. Fadia Deeb, Secretary-General of the Arab Dentists Union, Ayesh Al-Ghunaim, Treasurer of the Arab Dentists Union, in addition to heads of the Syndicates of Dentists in Egypt,  the Occupied Territories,  Yemen,  Lebanon,  Iraq,  Tunisia, and Libya.
