Supporting 185 small projects with production equipment in Aleppo

Yesterday, the Armenian Protestant community in Syria concluded the project of vocational training courses and support for small projects by distributing production equipment to 185 young men and women affected by the earthquake, people with disabilities, and families of martyrs, at the headquarters of the community in Aleppo.

The head of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce and member of the People’s Assembly, Amer Hamwi, stated to journalists that the program represents an incubator for pioneering and important projects to support the youth category. He noted that small projects start at an individual level and later develop in a cluster manner, meaning they provide a job opportunity at a broader community level.

The head of the Armenian Protestant community in Syria, Rev. Dr. Haroution Selimian, noted the importance of distributing work equipment to young men and women who completed the vocational training and entrepreneurship program. He added: This is the first step and a call to all governmental and civil bodies to support the continuity of these projects.

Peter Jabbour, a participant in the content creation courses, pointed out the role of professional courses in providing the beneficiary with sufficient skills and moving him from the hobby stage to professionalism.

It is noteworthy that the vocational training courses and small projects support program has been implemented by the Presidency of the Armenian Protestant Community in Syria for 4 years in partnership with the Middle East Council of Churches and in cooperation with accredited training centers, so that the number of beneficiaries of the program during the four years has reached 1,000 beneficiaries, both male and female.
