Russia condemns the Israeli aggression on Lebanon

Moscow, (ST)- The Russian Foreign Ministry today condemned the Israeli aggression and the massacres committed against innocent civilians in Lebanon.

The official spokeswoman for the ministry, Maria Zakharova, said in statements today that Russia condemns the large-scale military attacks carried out by “Israel” on Lebanon, stressing that Moscow is ready to coordinate with Middle Eastern countries to prevent a catastrophe in the light of this escalation.

For his part, the spokesman for the Russian presidency Dmitry Peskov clarified that the Israeli aggression on Lebanon may lead to the expansion of the war and threaten to completely destabilize the Middle East.

He told reporters that this is, of course, an event that may be very dangerous in terms of the expansion of the conflict and the comprehensive destabilization of the region, and it raises our grave concern.

Peskov pointed out that it is difficult to talk about settling the situation in the Middle East, because the peaceful path is monopolized by one country, the United States, which prevents reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.

The Minister of Public Health in the Lebanese caretaker government, Firas Al-Abiad, announced in a press statement that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon has risen to 558 martyrs, including 50 children, 94 women, and 1,835 wounded.
