UN Committee: “Israel” Committed Brutal Violations Against the Children in Gaza

The United Nations Committee to Monitor Governments’ Adherence to the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child affirmed that in Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation entity commits serious violations of the Universal Treaty for the Protection of Children’s Rights which were regarded as the worst in recent history,

Palestinian health authorities reported that more than 41 thousand people were martyred as a result of Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip, including thousands of children.

Reuters quoted the committee’s Vice-Chairman, Bragi Gudbrandson, as telling reporters, “The terrible death of children in the sector is unprecedented throughout history. It is a dark point in our contemporary history, ” adding: ” I think we have never seen a violation of this magnitude as we are seeing in Gaza now… these are very serious violations that we rarely see “.

The Commission called for urgent assistance to thousands of children injured or disabled as a result of the aggression and for more medical evacuations from Gaza to be allowed.
