Eslami: The Zionist entity’s refusal to join the NPT is a threat to international peace and security
Tehran (ST) – The Iranian President’s Assistant and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Islami, stressed that the Zionist entity’s refusal to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and place its nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AEIA) constitutes a threat to international peace and security.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Eslami as saying during his participation in the 68th regular session of the General Conference of the AEIA: “The world is currently facing serious and worrying challenges, including the crimes of the Zionist entity in Palestine, where it has killed more than 41 thousand people, most of whom are innocent women and children, and injured more than 100 thousand people, and with the support of America and some countries, it continues, with complete impudence, to commit crimes of genocide in its war on Gaza.”
“This entity is leading a campaign to defame Iran by adopting widespread negative propaganda against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, and this entity is trying to divert public opinion away from its crimes by fabricating slander and lies against Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities”, Eslami added.
He noted that today is more important than ever to establish a nuclear weapon-free zone in the Middle East, stressing that Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA continues in a sincere and broad manner.
