Shaden” musical Band on the stage of the Palace of Culture in Banias

The Palace of Culture in Banias, in cooperation with the “Shaden” Band for singing and music , held a singing evening that included songs from the oriental heritage, Qudoud and Andalusian Mwashah. The evening was a great success reflected in the audience’s interaction and applause.

About the evening, director and founder of the band Ziad Melis said “Shaden band was founded in 2017. It consists of about 20 women. It is self-funded and its purpose is to present heritage songs, after it moved from Aleppo to Lattakia during the crisis, and there we carried out activities related to oriental music and authentic Arabic singing”.

The participant Wafika Abu Ali said “these evenings have a big role in encouraging the new generation to hear these songs, although there is a high probability of not liking them from the first time, but it is important to get the new generation to know such kind of music and songs”, stressing the great role of the media in highlighting these evenings.

For her part, Ruba Kanaan said “I joined the “Shaden” band five years ago, and we, as a band, present these songs to the new generation because it is our mission that seeks to attract the new generation to heritage songs and music so that they get a healthy musical ear”. She added “the proof of our success is the audience’s interaction and attraction to the songs that we present to the new generation because the old songs are beautiful in terms of words and melody”.
