Syrian community in Cyprus condemn Zionist attacks on their homeland

NICOSIA, SEP.14, (ST)-Today, the Syrian community in Cyprus, in cooperation with the Syrian embassy in Nicosia, organized a solidarity stand condemning the Israeli attacks on Syrian lands, the latest of which was the aggression that targeted several areas in the vicinity of Masyaf and resulted in a number of martyrs and the injury of others.

The participants in the stand called on world countries and international organizations to condemn the Israeli aggression against Syria, stressing their support and solidarity with their homeland, Syria, and their steadfast people, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The agency quoted the head of the diplomatic mission in Cyprus, Ammar Awad, as saying that  Syria continues to confront all challenges, especially terrorism, occupation, the illegal foreign presence, and the negative effects of unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

Awad also condemned the international silence regarding Israel’s disregard for international law and all international conventions, stressing Syria’s  right to defend its territorial sovereignty and liberate its occupied land by all legitimate means guaranteed by international law.
