Venezuela Criticizes the New US Sanctions Against it, Calling it Aggression

Venezuela strongly rejected the sanctions imposed by the United States yesterday against a number of Venezuelan officials, stressing that they constitute a new crime of aggression against Venezuela.

In a statement, Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry condemned the United States move, calling it illegal unilateral coercive actions and a new crime of aggression.

The ministry added that Washington has once again demonstrated its complete disregard for international law, the right to self-determination of peoples, and the democratic will of the Venezuelan people.

The US Treasury Department announced new individual sanctions on 16 Venezuelan officials.
