China’s positions in support of Syria Highlighted

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Speaker of the Syrian Parliament Mohammad Jihad Lahham stressed that China’s positions in support of Syria against the terrorist war, have contributed to strengthening of the international law and preventing the aggression, noting that this position is appreciated by the Syrian people, government and leadership.

Meeting with the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Zhang Xun on the end of his mission in Damascus, Lahham added that China’s positions reflect a true and deep understanding of what is happening in Syria of a terrorist war led by Western countries in cooperation with regional countries carried out by terrorist takfiri tools, constituting a flagrant violation of the international law and a blatant interference in Syria ‘s internal affairs.

For his part, Ambassador Xun, stressed that the Chinese government is committed to its positions about the war in Syria, and is keen to strengthen bilateral friendship ties, expressing hope that the Syrian people and leadership will find a political solution to the current situation very soon, so as Syria to achieve the desired progress in various fields.

In a similar meeting today, Minister of Electricity Imad Khamis stressed Syria’s desire to develop special cooperation relations with China in various fields, especially in the electricity sector, which has been largely exposed to assaults and vandalism in the war targeting Syria.

The Chinese Ambassador noted the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples, stressing the importance of continued development of the distinguished bilateral relations in various fields.
