Russia Urges UNSC to Discuss Terrorists’ Crimes in Syria’s Kessab

MOSCOW- Russia considers any attempts to justify terrorists’ crimes in Syria absolutely unacceptable, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said, according to Itar Tass.

“The UN Security Council has to discuss the attack on the Armenian-inhabited village of Kessab in Syria and give its assessment,” the ministry says.

“We condemn extremists’ actions in Syria. We believe that the Syrian government and the opposition should join efforts to eradicate terrorism on the Syrian land,” the ministry says.

“The world community and human rights organisations have voiced concern over the situation in the Armenian-populated town of Kessab, Syria’s north-west. The town was attacked by al-Qaeda-linked extremist groups of Jabhat al Nusra and Ahrar al Sham,” the ministry says.

“The only reason for attacking seven hundred families and forcing them to leave their homes is that they were loyal to the Syrian government,” it says.

Chechnya’s President: Terrorists are fulfilling a task to ruin Syria and weaken the Islamic states

Chechnya’s President Ramzan Kadyrov wrote Monday on one of his official pages in the social networks that Terrorists who attacked the Syrian town of Kessab do not have anything in common with Islam.

He expressed condolences to the families of those who had died in Kessab and in other parts of the country, the Russian news agency TASS reported.

“About a hundred people died in Kessab as a results of an attack by the armed groups who had come from Turkey,” Karydov said.

“The official data says the attack on Kessab was carried out by al-Qaida militants affiliated with the so-called al-Nusra Front and Islamic Front,” he said. “I am stating herein bindingly that these terrorists have nothing in common with Islam and cannot be called Moslems.”

Kadyrov complained over the silence about the tragedy kept by officials in European countries and the U.S.

“These terrorists have been reared, fostered and armed by the West and trained by secret services of NATO countries,” he said. “They are fulfilling a task to ruin Syria and weaken the Islamic countries. And where’re the European and American democracies and why are they keeping their mouths shut?”

“Why are they pumping hundreds of millions of dollars, weaponry and specialized to the thugs, who oppose the legitimate government in Syria and kill women, the elderly, and children?” Kadyrov said. “How many more Syrians should die so that NATO countries stopped supporting the terrorists?”
