Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdollahian said on Tuesday that the crisis in Syria will not solved “militarily“.
“Only political and democratic solutions are the key to solving the crisis in Syria,” Abdollahian told a press conference at the Iranian embassy in Kuwait.
He said that Tehran has floated an initiative for solving the crisis in Syria during a recent visit by U.N.-Arab League Syria envoy Lakhdar Brahimi to Iran.
Speaking about the Egyptian crisis, Abdollahian voiced hope that Egypt will return to the democratic path.
He opined that ousted president Mohammad Mursi had mistaken by failing to include all parties during his one-year rule.
