Arab Parliament: Ben Gvir’s remarks on Al-Aqsa Mosque are provocative and dangerous

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the statements of the Minister in the Israeli occupation government, Itamar Ben Gvir. He called for the establishment of a synagogue inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, considering them provocative and dangerous, and posing a direct threat to the historical and legal status quo in the city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The parliament stressed in a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency that, these statements come within the framework of the occupation’s ongoing attempts to change the Arab character of Al-Quds and undermine the rights of the Palestinian people. It warned of these statements’ dire consequences on efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and restore stability to the region.

The parliament called on the international community to intervene urgently to stop these practices and statements that would increase tension in the region and pressure the occupation government to stop its violations.

It demanded the necessity of providing international protection for the Palestinian people and their sanctities and implementing international resolutions that guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
