Araghchi to His French and British Counterparts: Iran Doesn’t Want Escalation, it Adheres to its Right to Respond to Israeli Crimes

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed during a telephone call with his British and French counterparts the absolute right of Iran to respond to the terrorist crime committed by the Zionist entity in Tehran by assassinating the head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniya.

Araghchi said during a phone call from his French counterpart Stephane Sigourney today that the Zionist entity’s criminal act of assassinating Haniyeh in Tehran is an unforgivable violation of Iran’s security and sovereignty and Iran has the right to punish the aggressor.

He called on France and other Western countries to work to prevent the spread of war and the increase of tensions by putting pressure on the occupation entity to stop its crimes in the region.

For his part, Sigourney announced his country’s keenness to continue diplomatic consultations with Iran in the field of counter-terrorism, bilateral relations, regional and international issues.

During another call he received from his British counterpart David Lamy, Araghchi said that Iran does not want to expand the war and increase tension in the region, but it will not back down from its absolute right to respond to the criminal and terrorist practices of the Zionist entity.
