Al-Mikdad, Araghchi Discuss Enhancing Syria-Iran Strategic Relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad made a phone conversation with Abbas Araghchi,  congratulating him on assuming the post of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

AL-Mikdad conveyed the greetings of President Bashar Al-Assad to the leader of the Iranian Revolution, Ali Khamenei, and to Masoud Pezeshkian, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the phone call, the two foreign ministers stressed the importance of pushing and strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries to wider horizons.

Al-Mikdad stressed the importance of what the new Iranian leadership has confirmed regarding the tireless work to improve relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and neighboring countries.

The Foreign Ministers agreed to continue coordinating the positions of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran on  regional issues, including continuing to stand by the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank and Al-Quds (Jerusalem), and strongly condemned the policy of genocide and crimes committed by the Zionist racist entity against the Palestinian people without any deterrence.

They also condemned the Western policies, especially the policy of the United States, on supporting Israeli crimes, its lack of seriousness in stopping these crimes, and its absolute disregard for the suffering of the Palestinian people in complete contradiction with the principles of international law and human rights, and the right of the Palestinian people to life, freedom, and the establishment of their independent state on their land.

The two foreign ministers also agreed to continue consultations and coordination on issues of concern to the two countries, the peoples of the region and the world.
