The PLO calls on the international community to stop the occupation’s plans to Judaize Al-Aqsa

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST)- The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) affirmed that the Israeli occupation continues to target Islamic and Christian holy sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque, in repeated attempts to Judaize them by changing the historical and legal status quo there, calling on the international community to take action to stop it.

WAFA News Agency quoted Al-Quds  (Jerusalem) Affairs Department in the organization said in a statement today on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the crime of burning Al-Aqsa that the Israeli escalation on the occupied Palestinian territories, which has affected people, stones and holy sites, places the entire region on the edge of a explosion that could occur at any moment.

Al-Quds Affairs Department indicated that the fires that broke out in Al-Aqsa 55 years ago and destroyed large parts of it, are increasingly raging within the framework of the Judaization plan that the occupation officials express explicitly through their participation in the daily settler incursions into the mosque and the attacks on defenders of its sanctity.

The department pointed out that the occupation has been continuing its excavations under Al-Aqsa since 1967 with the aim of destabilizing its foundations and demolishing it, and it is also preventing Islamic Endowments Department in Al-Quds from carrying out restoration work in it,

In addition to many arbitrary practices and procedures that disregard all agreements, laws and customs that confirm the right of Muslims alone to this holy place, which has an area of 144 dunams.

The department called on the international community to implement its words into actions on the ground and implement the resolutions of international legitimacy that guarantee ending the occupation and achieving the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.
