DAMASCUS, (ST)- Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi on Saturday affirmed the role Syrian business councils can play in creating appropriate environment to enhance economic relations between Syrian and other friendly countries.
Al-Halqi, who was speaking to chairmen and deputy chairmen of Syria’s joint business councils with each of Russia, Iran, China, Belarus, Ukraine and Armenia, said “the era of reconstruction in Syria needs exerting more efforts to reactivate and boost Syria’s ties with its friendly countries and to make direct contacts with the companies and economic facilities of these countries to get their contribution to the reconstruction process.”
The premier reiterated the importance of partnership and integration between the government and the economic activities of the Syrian society in consolidating the steadfastness of the Syrian people and economy as to confront the ongoing war on Syria.
He stressed the need to develop the national industries, settle new industries and carry out joint investment projects with the businessmen of Syria’s friendly states.
Al-Halqi reviewed the Syrian government’s plans and programs for social and economic reconstruction in Syria saying that reconstruction needs mobilizing human and material potentials to meet citizens’ needs and provide best services to all the Syrians across the country.
He hailed the skills and expertise of the national sector’s cadres, asserting the government’s keenness to eliminate all the obstacles that may face the reconstruction process.
For their part, chairmen and deputy chairmen of the joint Syrian business council with Russia, Iran, China, Belarus, Ukraine and Armenia, expressed their readiness to spare no effort to bolster economic, trade, industrial, agricultural and health cooperation with Syria’s real friends and to seek opening new markets for Syrian products.
Following the meeting, Chairman of the Syrian-Iranian Business Council Samer As’ad said a road map for renewable Syria was worked out during the meeting through drawing up the outlines of the reconstruction process in Syria with the participation of Syria’s friendly countries.
