Minister of Agriculture Discusses With Delegation of Arab Beekeepers Union Developing Cooperation in Beekeeping

Damascus – (ST)- Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohammad Hassan Qatana, discussed with a delegation from the Arab Beekeepers Union, led by Moaz Sobhi Kazem, President of the Jordanian Beekeepers Union, ways to enhance cooperation between the two Syria and gge Union in enhancing beekeeping in Arab countries.

Minister Qatana stressed the need to increase cooperation and permanent coordination between all parties to achieve integration in the fields of beekeeping, starting with improving pastures and developing suitable breeds for different environments in Arab countries.

The head of the Jordanian Beekeepers Union expressed the desire of Arab beekeepers to develop cooperation and benefit from the advanced expertise of the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture to develop beekeeping in Arab countries.

For his part, the Director of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), Dr. Nasreddin Al-Ubaid, indicated the center’s readiness to provide everything necessary to develop and expand beekeeping in the Arab world, pointing to the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture in Syria to develop and improve agriculture in Arab countries through its support for the center, providing it with expertise and facilitating its research work.
