Jaafari: Amos report lacks credibility. UN SC should Hold Turkish Government Responsible for Fueling Terrorism in Syria
NEWYORK,(ST)_ Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that the report submitted by the UN Deputy Secretary -General for Humanitarian Affairs Valerie Amos on the implementation of resolution 2139 lacks credible information.
Jaafari said at a news conference yesterday in New York after a UNSC closed consultations on Amos report that the report ignored armed terrorist groups obstruction of humanitarian aids access to many areas or, shooting them, as happened in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus and the occupation of some terrorist groups of hospitals and converting them headquarters for military operations and acts of torture and execution.
Amos Report did not Refer to Massacres Committed by the Terrorist Groups
Jaafari said that Amos report, which is better than previous ones, did not refer to the massacres committed by the terrorist groups in Adra nor gave mention to the hundreds of kidnapped innocent women and children in north latakia countryside, since one year, noting that the humanitarian problem can not e solved if we do not talk about the political goal dimension reflected in foreign interference in Syria internal affairs and sending terrorists to Syria from all over the world at Turkish, Qatari, Saudi and Israeli support.
Jaafari indicated that, the Syrian government has established a joint committee for cooperation with relevant UN organizations in order to coordinate efforts to implement Resolution 2139, but Amos report did not mention any of the many achievements, so far, including opening Nsaibeen border checkpoint with Turkey to enter 68 trucks of humanitarian aid, opening five UN new offices in five provinces of Syria, and granting 400 visas to staff members recruited by UN organizations and 80 specialized agencies in the areas of humanitarian aid, in addition to the 173 national non -governmental organizations.
Abstaining from Recognizing facts on what is Happening on the Ground, does not Help Improving the Situation
Jaafari considered that the failure of the report and some members of the UNSC Secretariat to recognize facts of what is happening on the ground, is a bad sign that does not help improving the situation, noting “ if they want true implementation of UN Resolution 2139, they should deal with the Syrian government, rather with terrorist groups.
He pointed out that the British ambassador to the UN does not want to recognize the facts nor the achievements made through the great cooperation between the Syrian government and the UN organizations, besides he denied the presence of terrorist groups, when he confined to describing them only as opposition.
Erdogan’s government directly supports terrorist groups, interferes in the internal affairs of Syria and fuels terrorism
He stressed that the ruling government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s in Turkey directly supports terrorist groups in Syria and interfere in its internal affairs and fuels terrorism, adding that the leaked audio recording for one of its meetings to make fabrication to justify aggression against Syria is a big scandal, and the UN bodies should deal with these facts that violate its resolutions especially resolution number 2139 on the fight against terrorism.
He called on the UNSC to hold the Turkish government responsible for fueling terrorism in Syria and blatant breaching of UN member sovereign state, and allowing terrorists to attack it from the Turkish territory, noting that Turkish ambassador to the UN and his government s must comment on this big scandal published by the Turkish media, should he has the courage to respond.
He continued that what happened in Kasab is a crime against Syrian civilians, including Armenians who fled the Ottoman massacres in the 1920th, but they have been subjected to a similar massacre by the descendants of the Ottomans whose tanks and artillery covered Chechens, Saudis, Afghan and Tunisian terrorists with Saudi and Qatari petrodollars.
