Syrian Arab Army Inflicts Heavy Losses Upon Terrorists in Lattakia Countryside, Confiscates 35 Missiles in Hama

PROVINCES,(ST)_Fighting in northern countryside of Lattakia is still at its fiercest amid reports of eliminating 12 al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists outside Damascus and arresting 4 terrorists in Homs countryside, local media reports say.

The Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper reported today that the army units eliminated more than 500 terrorists, mostly of Saudi and Chechen nationalities  since the eruption of fighting in Kasab area in Lattakia countryside.

It confirmed that the terrorist groups have no control over any point or town so far.

While the official news agency said that the army units pressed ahead with hunting down terrorists and warding off attacks in the northern countryside of Lattakia where the terrorist groups sustained heavy losses.

12 terrorists killed in Jobar quarter

The ongoing fighting in Lattakia countryside synchronized with continuation of concentrated military operations outside Damascus, Aleppo, Daraa, Der Ezzour and Idleb provinces and confiscation of 35 missiles inside a car in the northern countryside of Hama province.

At least 12 terrorists from al-Nusra Front , mostly non-Syrians, plus a terrorist group were killed in Jobar quarter and Erbin town outside Damascus.  

Other 4 terrorists from the so-called the ‘Islamic Front’ were mowed down in Adra Al-Balad, according to the state-run Syrian TV channel.

Over 10 weapons-laden cars destroyed

Moreover, many terrorists died and several weapons-laden cars were destroyed when the army units targeted terrorist groupings in al-Sarkha tow’ farms, to the south-west of Yabroud, and in al-Mesherfeh town, to the north-west of Yabroud, as well as in al-Batra’a area, north of al-Rhebeh town, and in the eastern mountains of al-Zabadani city.

The army units also shelled terrorist groupings in more than 30 areas in Aleppo, Idleb and Daraa provinces and thwarted terrorists’ attacks on garrisons in Ghabagheb and Tal Ja’afar Bek in Daraa countryside.

An unknown number of terrorists perished in the said areas and more than 10 cars loaded with weapons for terrorists were wiped out in areas of Saraqeb, Bennish and Ma’arret Mesrin in Idleb province .

4 terrorists arrested

Elsewhere, the army units mowed down and hit about 15 terrorists in al-Saen area in central Homs province.

The official agency clarified that the terrorists, killed in the said area, were setting up rocket launchers to target civilians.

In the same province [Homs], the competent authorities arrested 4 terrorists coming from the Lebanese territories.

“The arrested terrorists were harboring inside a home in Jabal Ghalyon outside Takalkh,” a source at Homs governorate said.

27 gunmen surrendered

The sources added that 27 gunmen from Jeb al-Jandal quarter and a gunman from al-Qarabis quarter turned themselves in to the competent authorities.

As for the 35 missiles that were seized inside a car in Hama countryside, a military source made it clear that the missiles were hidden in hay bags.

Terrorists kill 2 civilians in Aleppo

In a separate development, terrorists fired 2 local-made missiles on al-Slemaneyeh quarter in northern Aleppo province, killing two civilians and leaving 6 others wounded.

Another terrorist attacks took place in the capital [Damascus] when two shells-fired by terrorists- hit quarters of Rekn Eddin and al-Qassa’a.

Almost three civilians were martyred by the mortar attacks in the said quarters.

Syrian is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.

The US, France, the UK, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
