The Syrian delegation representing the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, led by Dr. Tamer Al-Arabeed, discussed with the Director of Theaters at the Iranian Ministry of Culture Hamid Nili ways to develop bilateral cooperation and strengthen the cultural relations between Syria and Iran.
The discussions, attended by the directors of the four most important theater festivals in Iran, namely the director of the Fajr Festival, the director of the Street Theater Festival, the director of the Children’s Theater Festival, and the director of the Puppet Theater Festival, touched on the possibility of cooperation in exchanging theatrical performances in these festivals.
Dr. Al-Arabeed spoke about the possibility of exchanging expertise in workshops and bringing specialists from Iran to the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts to hold workshops in scenography, children’s theater, and puppet theater, and the possibility of participating in theatrical performances from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in the four festivals.
The Syrian delegation visited the “Tehran Shah” Theater in the city of theaters and viewed the training halls and theatrical stages, and the technologies and capabilities they contain, and attended a training show for the play “Caucasian Chalk” that the theater is preparing.
After the show, a dialogue was held between the delegation, the director of the show, and the participating artists, especially since this show was presented in Damascus more than once.
