Prisoners Affairs Commission: More than 9,000 detainees exposed to all formsbof torture in occupation’s prisons

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission affirmed that more than 9,000 prisoners in the Israeli occupation’s prisons have been facing unprecedented punitive measures for months. It added that the prisoners are exposed to all forms and types of torture that have turned their lives into hell.

The Commission clarified in a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency, that the occupation’s aggressive and inhumane practices against prisoners aim to humiliate them and break their resolve, which violates all international norms and agreements, indicating that the occupation continues the policy of collective punishment against prisoners, by isolating them from the outside world, torturing them, starving them, and depriving them of visits by their families, lawyers, and of hygiene supplies, which led to the spread of diseases, especially skin diseases.

The Commission renewed its call on human rights and international institutions to assume their role in stopping the occupation’s crimes against prisoners and not to be satisfied with documenting and exposing them.
