Syrian Arab Army Kills 40 Al-Nusra Front-linked Terrorists, Wards off Infiltration Bids into Point 45 in Lattakia Countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have shot down a Turkish spy balloon after eliminating 40 al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists including two Emirs of the Front during the ongoing battle in Kasab area outside Lattakia province, media reports say.

The reports said today that the Turkish balloon was shot down by the army units over Talla area in the northern countryside of Lattakia  after killing 40 terrorists belonging to al-Nusra Front in clashes in Kasab area, including al-Nusra Front Emir in Jabal al-Turkman and its Emir in the Syrian coast.

They confirmed that the army units delivered decisive blows to terrorist groups in Jabal al-Nisr in the same area [northern countryside of Lattakia], destroyed their weapons and killed a number of them.

Repeated infiltration bids into point 45

The army units also warded off an armed terrorist groups’ repeated infiltration bids into point 45 in Lattakia countryside and inflicted heavy losses upon them, according to a military source.

Another infiltration attempt by terrorist groups into Kherbet Ghazaleh area in southern Daraa province to attack garrisons was thwarted by an army unit.

535 bags of Captagon seized

Meanwhile, the official news agency said that the army units eliminated many terrorists from al-Nusra Front in a series of concentrated operations against terrorist groupings in Adra, Jobar, Duma, al-Zabadani, Hosh Arab, Rankous and al-Rhebeh in Damascus countryside.

Anti-aircraft gun and a quantity of weapons and munitions were wiped out in the operations amid reports of confiscating 535 bags of Captagon pills stashed inside a big truck heading  to al-Dmer area in Damascus countryside.

A military source declared that the Captagon pills were found hidden inside the truck at an army checkpoint in al-Qalamon area and the persons in the truck were arrested.

Terrorist group killed in ambush

While in northern Aleppo province, the army units killed many terrorists as they were trying to sneak into Haddadin-Seqlaya axis, shelled terrorist groupings in several areas and mowed down an armed terrorist group in an ambush.

The terrorists killed in the ambush were trying to infiltrate into Aziza town from the northern side, a military source clarified.

More terrorists died in an explosion of a car bomb as they were bobby-trapping it in Bennesh area outside Idleb province and in military operations outside Daraa and Homs provinces.

Almost 214 gunmen surrendered

On the other hand, a source at Homs Governorate said that 65 gunmen from the quarters of the old city plus 24 ones from al-Betmeh town turned themselves in to the competent authorities.

The competent authorities settled situations of 96 misled men from Hasya’a area outside Homs province after they surrendered.

In a relevant context, about 34 gunmen, including 2 deserters, who were involved in the ongoing events, surrendered themselves in to the competent authorities in Yabroud, Ma’aloula, al-Rhaybeh, Jab’adin and al-Jebbeh in Damascus countryside.

Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.

The US, France, the UK, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
