Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor: Daily deaths of patients and injured in the Gaza Strip as a result of the occupation siege

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has affirmed that the Gaza Strip records many deaths daily as a result of the arbitrary siege imposed by the Israeli occupation which continue prevent the entry of medical supplies into the Strip after it systematically destroyed the health sector during its ongoing aggression since October 7th.
“The monitor receives dozens of complaints daily from Palestinians who need to travel for themselves or their families to receive life-saving treatment outside Gaza Strip, due to the lack of appropriate treatment, medicines and medical devices and due to the fact that the majority of hospitals are out of service because of the Israeli siege and bombing” The monitor said in a statement.
The monitor indicated that since last May, the occupation has closed the Rafah crossing, which is the only outlet during the war for travel outside the Gaza Strip, which deprived thousands of injured and sick people from going out to receive treatment, and led to the martyrdom of hundreds of them so far.
The statement indicated that the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirms that there are more than 12 thousand injured person, and 14 thousand patients, including cancer patients, who need to travel urgently to save their lives, and tens of thousands need to travel in order to complete treatment or receive necessary health and rehabilitation services that are not available in the Gaza Strip.
The monitor stressed that these occupation practices mean the mass execution of sick and injured people and deliberate killing, pointing out that the destruction of hospitals, facilities and medical transport means, the prevention of the entry of medicines and medical devices, and the killing and detention of medical personnel come at the forefront of the crimes of genocide committed by the occupation in Gaza Strip, in addition to being war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The statement called on the international community to take urgent action to lift the siege on Gaza Strip, bring in medical materials to save the lives of the sick and the wounded, guarantee the right to travel for treatment for people whose medical conditions require it, and bring in the necessary needs to rebuild the health system immediately and ensure its protection from occupation attacks.
