Minister of Endowments: Religious institutions should join efforts to manage religious discourse platforms

Minister of Endowments Muhammad Abul Sattar Al-Sayyid has stressed the importance of the combined efforts of religious institutions in managing religious discourse platforms that have a wide influence in the Arab and Islamic world, “especially since we are living in the era of modernity and social communication”.

Minister Al-Sayyid pointed out, during his chairmanship of the session of the second day of the Conference of Ministers of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Islamic World Countries, held in the Holy City of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, that religious institutions should be aware and ready to deal with this new reality and its effects on youth and society as a whole, especially since many groups Extremists used these means to reach the minds of young people and poison them with deviant ideas.

During the session entitled “Modern means of communication and the role of the Ministries of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in benefiting from them and ways to prevent their dangers”, the Minister of Endowments reviewed the main points in the work paper presented by the Syrian Ministry of Endowments on “The most important proposed means for coordination between the Ministries of Endowments and Islamic Affairs on combating extremism and consolidating the values ​​of moderation”.

The session also included the presentation of two seminar submitted  by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the presence of Dr. Awad Al-Enezi, Undersecretary of the Ministry, as well as by the Ministry of Endowments in Kuwait.

 

Yesterday, Al-Sayyed met with the head of the Endowment Office in Iraq Mishaan Al-Khazraji and a member of the Fqh Academy in Iraq Diaa Al-Jawhari on the sidelines of the conference.

Talks dealt with religious cooperation between the Syrian Ministry of Endowments and the Endowment Administration in Iraq as well as  the exchange of experiences and expertise between the two countries in the endowment and religious field.

The discussions included the need to present a religious discourse that is consistent with the reality of the two countries and the wars and conspiracies launched against them which were based on extremism and terrorist groups created by the West and the United States with the aim of undermining Syria and Iraq and spread chaos in the countries of the region.
