FM statement: Unprecedented Turkish military aggression against Syria in Kasab

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ A source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the Turkish government launched an unprecedented and unjustified military aggression against Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in Kasab border area last Friday and Saturday by tanks and artillery shelling against the Syrian territory to cover the deployment of the terrorist gangs from the Turkish territories into Syria.

In a statement today, the source said that this escalation came in the context of Erdogan government aggressive policies and open support to the armed terrorist groups which have been taken the Turkish territories as a haven to kill innocent Syrian citizens and destroy the infrastructure of the Syrian people.

The source added that these attacks, reflect the Turkish serious military involvement in events in Syria since the beginning of the crisis, and the bankruptcy of Erdogan and his failure to address the needs of the Turkish people, who declined to aggressive policies against Syria and rejected the corruption which Erdogan was involved in.

“Syria demands Erdogan government to halt its aggression and support for terrorism, honor relevant UN Security Council resolutions and refrain from implicating the Turkish army in useless and unjustifiable adventures against neighbor Syria, who has feelings of brotherhood and good neighborliness for the Turkish people and the desire for continued good bilateral relations that serve the two countries and peoples, ” the source said.
