President Assad congratulates President Maduro on winning presidential elections

Damascus -President Bashar Al-Assad has congratulated President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela on his great victory in the presidential elections. He has also congratulated the friendly people of Venezuela on the success of the important electoral process in which they expressed their adherence to the sovereignty of their country and its constitution, and their free and independent will away from any attempts to interfere in their internal affairs.

In a congratulation cable, President Al-Assad affirmed that the current developments in world require us, as countries with independent decisions and will, to seek the highest levels of cooperation and mutual support, and to establish partnerships with all countries that share our principles and values ​​and seek goodness and peace in this world.

The President reiterated Syria’s keenness to ensure that the historical friendship between Syria and Venezuela is enhanced and to boost and expand cooperation in all fields to serve the interest the two friendly countries and peoples.
