Iran, G5 Plus 1 Stress ˈSubstantive And Usefulˈ Talks In Vienna

Vienna –  Iran and six world powers here Wednesday wrapped up two days of ˈsubstantive and usefulˈ talks on Tehranˈs nuclear program.

Speaking at joint news conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton labeled the Vienna II meetings ˈsubstantive and useful.ˈ

She added that the discussions focused on four main issues: uranium enrichment, Arak reactor, peaceful nuclear cooperation and the removal of sanctions.

Ashton confirmed that the next round of talks would be in Vienna again from April 7-9 as technical experts would continue their efforts to elaborate on the details.

Meanwhile, Zarif echoed Ashtonˈs remarks by terming the discussions in the Austrian capital ˈvery substantive, serious and useful.ˈ

Zarif meets with foreign affairs committee of Austrian parliament

In the same context,Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif here Wednesday held talks with members of the foreign affairs committee of the Austrian parliament.

Talks dwelt on Iran nuclear talks, bilateral and international issues, and the need for mutual respect.

Zarif termed the meeting good and useful, saying it could foster greater understanding.

Iranˈs top diplomat is in Vienna for two-days of talks on a lasting nuclear accord.

Meanwhile, Zarif held also a bilateral meeting European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton ahead of the final plenary session later in the day.
